Description
Make a little Christmas adventure at home with The Little Christmas Trail: an adult-led printable treasure hunt using familiar household objects.
Choose read-aloud rhyming clues or simple picture-supported cards. Follow the ready-planned 12-stop route, swap in alternative places, or use the included six-stop example for a shorter game. No fireplace, garden, stairs, snow or Christmas tree is required.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
- 12 main clue destinations and 6 optional alternatives.
- Each destination in two styles: a rhyming clue and a picture-supported card with a direct instruction. These are two versions of the same destinations, not 36 different hiding places.
- START and FINISH cards, four blank cards and a keepsake certificate.
- A six-page parent guide with the hiding map, safe-location checklist, worked shorter route and a blank route planner.
- Three separate PDFs: A4 activity pack (13 pages), US Letter activity pack (13 pages) and parent guide (6 A4 pages). A4 and Letter repeat the same activity.
HOW IT WORKS
Print the pages you need, using the file matching your paper. Cards measure 3 x 4 inches at 100% / Actual Size. An adult cuts and hides the cards using the guide, then reads or supports the clues during play. Finish with a surprise of your choice: the certificate or a choice of family game is enough. No prize purchase is required.
WHO IT IS FOR
Designed for family play, broadly around ages 5-8 with adult help. Reading needs and suitability vary; this is not an independently playable or age-tested game. Picture cards name the destination and can support younger players. The hunt has no timer or competition.
IMPORTANT BEFORE BUYING
Digital download only. No physical cards, props, printer, scissors or prizes are included. Adult setup, supervision and cutting are required. Choose safe, reachable, distinct locations; never use appliances, medicine or cleaning storage, hot areas or climbing spots. Walk rather than run.
This listing is for static print-and-write PDFs, not fillable forms or a delivered Canva template. Write on the blanks and certificate by hand. Printer colours vary. Personal household use only; no resale, redistribution or file sharing. Contact the purchase shop if you need help with the files.
